Cuesta Cagers Claim Victory Over Antelope Valley

Cuesta Men's Basketball picked up a win over Antelope Valley in the final home game of the year, 59-49.  The Cougars trailed the visiting Marauders after one half of play, 30-27, but were strong down the stretch and outscored the visitors 32-19 in the second half to seal the victory.  Cuesta's Darryl Brooks continued to light up the scoreboard and led all scorers with 24 points in the game, while the Cougars also saw the return of 2020 All-WSC First Team Guard Jacques Safra in his first outing of the season, however the reigning Team MVP was limited to only five minutes.  Cuesta appears to have shaken off last week's one-point loss and will end the season against the State's two other one-loss teams.  The Cougars play against College of the Sequoias (4-1) in Visalia next Friday, March 26 and end the season in Bakersfield (3-1) on Thursday, April 1.  Both games are men's and women's doubleheaders with the women schedule to kick-off the day at 5 PM and the men playing the nightcap at 7 PM.
