Men's Swimming Wins Third Straight WSC Mini Meet

Men's Swimming has won the past three Western State Conference Titles and is pushing for a fourth.  The Cougars only won four events at last week's WSC Mini Meet, hosted by Allan Hancock in Santa Maria, but boasted 13 Top 3 swims and the meet's top two scorers.  Returning All American Ethan Merritt (pict) ed the men's competition with 23 individual points after winning the 400-individual medley (4:36.60) and taking second in both the 100-free (:49.94) and 200-breaststroke (2:23.82).  Merritt was chased by teammate Conner Rocha, who finished second with 17 points.  Rocha took Bronze in both the 100 (:51.64) and 1,650-freestyles (18:48.02), while also landing in 4th for the 400-individual medley (4:57.48).

This Saturday the Aqua-Cats travel to the Bakersfield Invitational for their final tune-up before the three-day Western State Conference Meet begins on April 18.
