Greenelsh and Oldham Lead Cuesta Track & Field at WSC North Meet

Cuesta Men's Track and Field was joined by five other members of the Western State Conference for the WSC North Meet in SLO.  The Cougars combined to win five event titles, plus a Silver and a pair Bronzes on the day.  2024 CCCAA State Cross Country Champion Weston Greenelsh (pict) proved that he could be just as effective confined in a lane as he was in the expanse of nature during cross country.  Greenelsh won the 800 (1:57.76) and 1,500-meter runs (3:59.23), while also joining three teammates to take the 4x400 Relay (3:28.92).  One of those relay teammates was Freshman Alexander Oldham, who also helped win the 4x100 Relay, before winning the 400-meters (:57.94) on his own.  In the sand pits, Leaper William Dawes, who currently ranks 3rd all time at Cuesta in the Long Jump and 5th in the Triple Jump, won both of his specialties before leading off the Cougars' winning 4x100 Relay (:42.53).  Freshman Benjamin Schneider joined Oldham and Greenelsh on the 4x400 Relay, before winning his own title in the High Jump.

The Cougars shall stay close to home for their next event, when they travel to Santa Maria to compete in Allan Hancock's Henry Kirk Invitational next Friday.
