Cuesta Softball finally gets to see an opponent this Thursday (Noon) when the Cougars scrimmage Reedley. The visiting Tigers return to Cuesta for the first time since their doubleheader with the Cougars on February 4, 2020. Reedley won that "cat fight" taking the opener, 9-4, and pushing across the winning run in the 10th inning of the nightcap, 4-3. Of course, in this week's scrimmage, by rule, there will not be an official score. Softball ended the 2020 season with a 16-7 record and in first place inteh Western State Conference standings (2-0). They return the bulk of their starting line-up. Cuesta's line-up is led by a quartet of returning .400-hitters- Kaitlyn Perry (.425), Natalie Ziegler (.418), Bailee Crawford (.415) and, Mikayla Nunlist (.400), while also boasting premier power hitter Katie Lamar, who was second in the WSC with three home runs.
