Cuesta Women's Basketball finished 12-13 last season and 2022 Western State Conference Coach of the Year Casey Blair is back on the bench for his second season. Blair had a little more time to recruit this season and the 2022-23 team is poised to be the first program to reach the post-season since 2015.   The Cougars return three players from last year's squad, including 2022 All-WSC First Team Guard Olivia Missler.  Missler joins fellow returning starter Sam Watanabe and Reserve Guard Daisy Hummell, as well as transfer Chris Heimann to add some veteran experience to the roster.  The Cougars also expect Newcomers Maria Ferrer Brao, Kristielyn Biado, Abigail Lacy and, Sydney Howe to immediately step into prominent roles on the hardcourt. Freshmen Posts Natalie Lamalfa and Jaspawan Kaur will lock down the paint for Cuesta. The Cougars open the 2022-23 campaign at home against Santa Ana this Thursday (5 PM).
