Men's Basketball returned to action on Friday with a thrilling victory over local rival Allan Hancock, 85-74. The host Bulldogs took a five-point lead into the intermission, however the Cougars blew-out their hosts 50-34 in the second-half to earn the 11-point win. Freshman Darryl Brooks (Menomonee Falls, WI) led the Cougars with 19 points, while Sophomore Manu Trosman (Buenos Aires, ARG-Pictured) equaled his career-high with 18 points. In all, four members of the Cougars' starting five scored in double-digits, including Sophomore Forward Alex Aguirre (Madrid, ESP) and Freshman Guard Japjit Gill (Union City) with 16 and 12 points, respectively. Aguirre also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, while Gill paced the Cougars with five assists. The Cougars are 1-0 on the year. The Cougars will play their next game at home this Friday (6 PM) when they host Cerro Coso. The Coyotes are currently 3-1 and will be playing their fifth game of the spring.
