Cuesta's Fab 5 Hold On For A Win Over Antelope Valley

Cuesta Women's Basketball improved to 2-0 on the abreviated season with a victory at home over Antelope Valley, 50-47.  The Cougars and Marauders were tied at 26 at the intermission, but the vistors held Cuesta to only two baskets in the 3rd quarter and took a six-point lead going into the final ten minutes.  Cuesta took over from there with 20 points in the game's highest scoring quarter to claim the three-point triumph. The Cougars were, once again, led by Derricka Millinghaus and Miracle Millinghaus as both sisters recorded double-doubles for the second straight game.  Derricka led all scorers with 25 points, while also pulling down 11 rebounds, although she also fouled out in the final minute, while Miracle added a dozen points and ten rebounds in the win.  The Cougars that remained on the floor at the buzzer heroically held off Antelope Valley in the last minute of the game, despite playing with only four players on the floor.  Cuesta plays against the College of the Sequoias next Friday (5 PM) in Visalia.  The Giants and the Cougars are the final two undefeated teams in the State.
