Cuesta College Aquatics Center

Cuesta College Aquatics Center

Since it opened for use in the spring of 1979, the Cuesta Pool has gained prominence as one of the premier aquatic centers in the state. The pool was the final training site for the 1984 Synchronized Swimming Teams, as well as, the 1984 and 1988 US Olympic Water Polo Teams, before they earned back-to-back Silver Medals.  The Cougars’ water polo and swimming teams host all their home events at the Cuesta Pool. The facility sits as a sparkling blue jewel amidst the rugged Coastal Mountains. The Olympic-sized pool ranges from 7 to 16 feet in depth and is equipped with a pair of both one and three-meter diving boards, plus a large heated therapy pool.

In addition to U.S. National Water Polo team training sessions and numerous international games, Cuesta has hosted several Community College playoff games: including the 1998 and 2017 State Water Polo Championships. Both the men's and women’s water polo teams host a pair of tournaments in the fall, and in the spring, the Cougars host one of the nations’ largest collegiate swimming and diving invitationals.
