Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our female selection for September is Driver Kylee Wesemann.
2018 All Western State Conference First Team Driver Kylee Wesemann returned to full-time duty for the Cougars at the season-opening Central Coast Tournament. Wesemann led a young Cuesta squad to tie for 2nd place with a 3-1 record. Wesemann scored a team-high 16 goals and tied a school-record with eight goals in Cuesta's win over Ohlone. On the season, Wesemann has been the Cougars go to player and a dominant statistical force. She is the current team-leader in goals (19), steals (21) and exclusions drawn (13). She is also second on the team with seven assists.
Cuesta Women's Water Polo is 4-4 on the season and begins Western State Conference play next month. The Cougars are chasing a fourth straight playoff berth.
