Cuesta Women's Beach Volleyball program made its official debut last Friday at El Camino College versus a pair of returning playoff squads.  The Cougars opened their program against the host Warriors and fellow visitor Rio Hondo, with identical 5-0 losses.  It was tough start for the Cougars, who jumped into action in Beach Volleyball's 10th year as a California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) sport.  Cuesta's pairs were swept by Rio Hondo and nearly swept by El Camino, with exception of Freshmen Madelyn Freeman and Amelie Lo Jocano's second set win, 21-14, to force tiebreaker at #4 pairs.

Cuesta's Sand Spikers will remain closer to home this weekend with a head-to-head match against Hartnell this Friday (1 PM).  The match was originally set to be played on Cuesta's campus at Noon but has been re-scheduled to Cal Poly at 1 PM.
