Cuesta Outfielder Angus Stayte has accepted a scholarship to play for St. Mary's College in Moraga, California.  It has been a long road, since graduating from Palo Also High, for Outfielder Angus Stayte. Stayte began his collegiate career at DeAnza in 2018 and 2019, before coming to play at Cuesta last season.  He hit a promising .316 in 19 games for the Dons as a freshman, but his sophomore season was postponed after only three games and he claimed a medical-redshirt for 2019.  Last season, Stayte was one of four former Dons that made their way to San Luis Obispo and Cuesta for the 2020 season.  Stayte batted .333 for Cuesta, while playing in 15 of the Cougars' 20 games.  He had helped lead Cuesta to the top of the Western State Conference standings and into the State's Top 10 when the season abruptly ended.  St Mary's plays in the West Coast Conference, which is one of the country's toughest NCAA Divivsion I circuits.  The Gaels were 8-8 overall and had not begun their WCC schedule when the campaign closed.
