Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our male selection for February is Pitcher Jackson Cloud.
Freshman Pitcher Jackson Cloud finished the first month of his freshman campaign with a 3-0 record, over his first four starts, and established himself as the staff's ace. Cloud opened his career with four starts against four ranked teams, including #1 and #3. In February, he posted a 2.02 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 26.2 innings of work, while allowing only 17 hits. In his third start of the month, he authored a complete game, two-hit shutout, with nine strikeouts to lead Cuesta past #16 Sequoias, 7-0.
Baseball is 8-5-1 overall and the reigning Western State Conference are 2-0 against the circuit. Cuesta is currently ranked 10th in the Region
