Freshman Southpaw Robinson Lardner was a bright spot in Cuesta Baseball's first round playoff defeat.  Lardner appeared in two of the Cougars' three games against Los Angeles Valley, while tossing 7.2 shutout innings.  In his series opener, he entered a tie game and kept visiting Los Angeles Valley scoreless for three innings and earned the victory, as the Cougars rallied for the lead.  Lardner also tossed 4.2 more shutout innings of relief in Saturday's finale.  He entered the game with the Cougars trailing, 4-2, and handed a tie-game off to the bullpen in the 8^th inning.  On the weekend, he was 1-0 with eight strikeouts, while walking none and scattering three hits against the visiting Monarchs.
