Cuesta Evens Series, but Game 3 is Suspended Until Sunday

Cuesta Baseball, seeded #11, evened its CCCAA Southern California Playoff Series with Glendale by taking Game 2, 15-5.  The victory nearly made up for the Cougars' series opening loss to the Vaqueros, 25-6, in Friday's opener.  Cuesta opened the game with a five-run inning and added four more runs the next two innings to build an insurmountable, eight-run lead.  Outfielder Makani Nabarro and Catcher Braydon Kimble led offense with three apiece.  Nabarro set the table two singles and a double, while scoring a game-high four runs.  Kimble also counted a double among his three hits and drove in a game-high four runs.  Cuesta's Corner Infielders Mikey Bell and Pranav Sundar also enjoyed a multi-hit game.  Bell pounded out a double and a home run and both scored and scored two runs, while Sundar added two singles and an RBI.  On the mound, All-WSC Hurler Jackson Cloud (pict) earned the win by pitching into the 7th inning, before handing the game off to the bullpen. to tie the series.

In the third and deciding game Starters Andrew Seibert and Shane Alderete dueled for four innings, before rain suspended play.  The game was suspended just one batter into the 5th inning, but it was an important at bat.  Glendale Leftfielder Jackson Benattar opened the inning with a game-tying solo home run.  When play resumes, tomorrow, May 5 (1 PM) with Glendale's Designated Hitter Sam Grunberg shall be at the plate with zero balls and one strike count.
