Men's Basketball Looks Forward To New Year's Tournament in Santa Maria

On Saturday, Men's Basketball fell to tournament host West Valley, 108-64, in their final game before the end of the semester.  The loss dropped the Cougars' record to 3-10 on the season and left the cagers are currently mired in a five-game losing streak.  Freshman Forward Ketan Sidhu (Seattle, WA) scored ten points in the game and was the only Cuesta player to score in double figures against #8 West Valley, a team the Cougars had extended to double-overtime two weeks ago in El Cajon.

The Cougars have one more tournament on their schedule before they begin Western State Conference play, but fortunately the Cougars do not have any more overnight trips left on their regular season schedule.  Cuesta shall take this week off and return to the hardwood for the Allan Hancock New Year's Tournament starting December 28.  The Cougars open the tournament against Chabot, ranked 14th in Northern California, on Tuesday (3 PM).  On Wednesday (1 PM), Cuesta faces Ohlone, which is riding its own six-game losing streak, however the Cougars' tournament finale against #12 LA Harbor on Thursday has been cancelled.  THe Seahawks have pulled out of the tournament. Cuesta begins its 2021-22 Western State Conference Schedule when they host Oxnard on January 5 (5 PM)
