Dassie's 30-point Game Keeps Cougars Playoff Hopes Alive

All-WSC Forward Juani Dassie (pict) netted ten three-point shots to lead the Cougars past visiting Oxnard, 88-55.  Dassie, who scored all 30 points on three-pointers, and the Cougars began the game scoring at torrid pace and never left the outcome in doubt.  The Cougars held a 50-28 advantage at halftime and could were in range of hitting the century mark for the second time this season but slowed their pace over the last quarter of the contest.  Dassie added six rebounds, two assists, two steals and blocked shot to his night, but also got a lot of help from his teammates.  Forward Mason Romano posted a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Guard Aaron Russell scored 11 points and dished out ten assists to place himself in a tie for 9th on the Cougars' all-time single game assist list.  The Cougars also got some help off the bench from Sophomore Small Forward Reumang Emagna, who scored 10 points, grabbed three boards, and dished out four assists.  Cuesta was dominant in the game and posted team-season highs with 14 three-point field goals, 34 defensive rebounds and 13 steals.  The victory moves the Cougars overall record to 14-12 and keeps their glimmer of post-season hope alive.
