Men's Basketball shook off a slow start to the season with a win last Friday against host San Mateo, 67-64, at the CSM Classic.  The Cougars opened the tournament on Thursday against Foothill and endured their fifth consecutive loss, 76-70, to open the season.  The next night, the Cougars made some adjustments and found their way into the win column against the host Bulldogs.  2023 All-WSC First Team Guard Drew Ardouin and Freshman Forward TJ Maveety, who also corralled a game-high 12 rebounds, both began the game on the bench, but ended the evening tied with a game-high with 19 points each. The Cougars' first victory of the season snapped the team's five-game winless streak, which was Cuesta's longest since they opened the 2004-05 season 0-10.  Cuesta is now 1-5.

The Cougars will try to add another win to their record before the Thanksgiving break.  The Cougars host Cerro Coso this Wednesday (4 PM).  The Coyotes are currently undefeated on the season at 5-0.
