Men's Basketball returns home this weekend for their second home tournament of the season.  The Cougars will join fellow Western State Conference program Santa Barbara City as they take on visiting Hartnell and Barstow.  The co-host Vaqueros will play the early game both nights, while the Cougars are featured in the nightcap.  Santa Barbara City opens the tournament against Hartnell at 5 PM on Friday, while the Cougars are scheduled to take the floor against Barstow at 7 PM.  Saturday's games will commence a little earlier as the team's swap partners.  Santa Barbara City and the Vikings tip-off at 3 PM, while Cougars and Panthers have their "catfight" slated for a 5 PM start.  

Last Saturday, Cuesta picked up its second of victory of the season against Copper Mountain, 73-53, in Joshua Tree.  The Cougars shortened their rotation against Fighting Cacti and claimed the win while only using three substitutes for a combined 35 of the games 200 minutes.  2023 All-WSC First Team Guard Drew Ardouin led the way in scoring with a game-high 21 points, but also tied for a game-high six assists and added eight rebounds, while Forward TJ Maveety also dished out six assists and added a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 17 rebounds- just one carom away from the Cougars' All Time Top 10.  Power Forward Ethan Walker also posted a double-double, with 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Freshman Angel Castellanos scored all 18 of his points from beyond the arch.  The Cougars, who opened the season with five straight setbacks, are currently 2-8 on the season.
