Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our male selection for January is Sophomore Cager Drew Ardouin
Returning all-WSC First Teamer Drew Ardouin has been the Cougars leading scorer all season and reached a milestone by scoring his 1,000th career point at Cuesta. On the season, he is the Cougars leading scorer with 21.6 points per game, however he in January he torched his Western State Conference foes at a rate of 26 points per game. Ardouin has also been an efficient scorer for the Cougars with a solid 44.5 shooting percentage, which jumps to 45.7% when he is behind the three-point line. He is also tied for second on the team with 2.7 assists and his 5.5 rebounds per contest are third on the squad. Ardouin, who scored 156 points in his first swing through the 7-team WSC-North Division, is currently 187 points shy of former two-time All-WSC First Team selection Martin Rajniak's program record of 1,200 career points. He will have six games in February to chase Rajniak's mark
The Cougars begin the second round of Western State Conference play when they host Santa Barbara City on February 3.
