Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our male selection for April is Distance Freestyler Stash Perry.

 Stash has enjoyed a spectacular season and has helped lead the Cougars' Men's Swim and Dive team to an undefeated regular season, 10-0, going into the 2022 CCCAA State Championships.  In April, he won three individual titles at the Western State Conference Championships, while also setting a school record in the 500-freestyle and leading the Cougars to the title. Perry, who is joined on the swim team by his twin brother Ethan and sister Jensen, was named WSC's tri-Swimmer of the Year with teammates Lucas Esenwein and Andrew Lopez.  He set his new Cuesta 500-freestyle standard in only 4:37.92, while also earning conference titles in the 200 and 1,650 freestyles.  Stash currently ranks in Cuesta's All Time Top 10 in six events, including 2^nd in the 100-Individual Medley behind his twin brother. 

Cuesta Men's Swimming won the 2022 Western State Conference Championship and is undefeated heading into the 2022 CCCAA State Championship in May.
