Men's Swim & Dive is back in form after winning the 2023 Western State Conference Preview Meet.  The Cougars scored 192 points as a team to easily outpace Runner-up Santa Monica's 62 points, while the remaining half-dozen teams shared the 0ther 260 points.  Returning All Americans Andrew Lopez (pict-L) and the Perry twins, Stash Perry (pict-R) and Ethan Perry, led the Cougars, who placed at least two swimmers in the Top 8 in each of the eight lane events, including half of the finals field in four events. Stash Perry, who shared the 2022 WSC Swimmer of Year Award with Lopez, joined his water polo teammate Ethan Merritt as the only Cougars' to win an individual event, the 500-freestyle and 100-breatstroke, respectively.   The Cougars first dive into the season puts them squarely on top of the circuit and the early favorites for their third straight WSC title and 18th since 1979.

The Cougars will see some familiar faces this weekend when the team travels to Bakersfield for its first scoring Western State Conference Mini-Meet.  The conference shall host three weekends of mini meets during the season with each team getting to compete against their conference foes twice before the conference championship.  The WSC Championship is scheduled the final the third weekend in April at Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys.
