Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month.  This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport.  Our male selection for April is Distance Swimmer Stash Perry.

Returning All American Stash Perry led the Cougars to their 18^th conference title and repeated as the Western State Conference Male Swimmer of the Year.   He paved the way with three events titles, as he dominated the distance events.  He swam the maximum of three individual events and claimed title in the 200-freestyle (1:41.03), 500-freestyle (4:43.87) and 1,650-freestyle (16:28.43).  He set a new Cuesta standard in the 200-freestyle, while breaking Chris Reddick's 2013 record by .27 seconds.  He currently holds Cuesta records in the 200, 500 and 1,650 freestyle events, while ranking 2^nd in the non-championship 1,000-freestyle and 100-individual medley.

The Cougars won their 23^rd Western State Conference title and are among the favorites at the 2023 CCCAA State Championship.
