Men's Swim & Dive Places 5th at CCCAA State Championships

Cuesta Men's Swim and Dive placed as a team at the CCCAA State Swim & Dive Championships for the 31st year in a row and this year's 5th place finish put them in the Top 5 for the 12th time over that span.  The official times have not been finalized, but the Cougars posted several medal winners.  Freshmen Rylan Stevenson set a new Cuesta Record in the 100-butterfly (:50.32) and posted the team's season-best time of :45.71 in the 100-freestyle, before joining Conner RochaEthan Merritt, and Brady Lind to set a new Cuesta standard in the 200-free relay (1:22.63).  Rocha posted a personal-best time of :20.17 in the 50-freestyle, while Merritt placed 4th in the 100-breaststroke.  Lind, who was the Cougars' second leading scorer, claimed the runner-up spot in the 100-backstroke (:52.97) and picked up another 15 points in the 200-freestyle (1:41.36).  The final tally is not in, but so far, the 2024 team has posted 13 Cuesta All Time Individual Top 10 times this season.  The Cougars are expecting to boast more accolades as the final results are sorted out over this week.
