Cuesta Track Joins The Ocean Team to Place Second in Ocean v. Valley Meet

Cuesta Men's Track & Field joined local rival Allan Hancock and Hartnell, from up near Salinas, to compete as the "Ocean" team against the "Valley" teams, which included Modesto, Fresno, Sequoias and Clovis.  The Cougars held out their vaunted throwing squad, to prepare for tomorrow's Cal Poly Invitational, which helped land the Ocean team in 2nd place on day, 439.5 to 261.5.  Cuesta scored 55.5 points for the Ocean Team, which was the fifth highest total of the seven teams and Sprinter Connor Prichard won the only event title for the Cuesta Men's Team.  Prichard's time for the 200-meters was a career-best :22.00, which moved him into 6th place all time at Cuesta.  Prichard also finished 2nd in the 100-meter dash with a time of :11.36 and was the Cougars' top scorer on the day.  Hurdler Cameron Avila finished 3rd in the 400-hurdles (:59.19) and was the Cougars only other top three finisher on the day.

Cuesta stays home next week to host the 2022 Western State Conference Coast Division Meet on Friday (Noon).
