Men's Track Opens the Season at the WSC Preview

Men's Track & Field opened the 2023 campaign at the Western State Conference Relays in Ventura last Friday.  The meet was a non-scoring event yet offered competitors a chance to demonstrate their abilities against their conference foes.  The Cougars earned 5th place or better, in five events on the day.  Freshman Leaper Dylan Ervin posted the Cougars' top mark of the day when he cleared 40-7.75 to take 2nd in the Triple Jump.  He was also part of Cougars' Sprint Medley that also took the Bronze.  Fellow Jumper Joseph Tugwell also "showed" for Cuesta in the High Jump after clearing 5-8.75.   On the track, Sophomores Connor Prichard and Zach Holland joined Ervin and Freshman Phoenix Popp to take 3rd place in the 800 Sprint Medley and swapped Ervin for 2022 Regional Qualifier Evan Schweitzer to take 4th in the 4x100 relay.  Freshman Jackson Reilly was the Cougars' top performer in the Throws.  Reilly finished 5th in the Shot Put with a toss of 38-6.75.

Track and Field is back in action this Friday (All Day) at the Western State Conference North Meet, which features all the member schools above the Conejo Grade.  The meet will be hosted at Bakersfield College.
