Cuesta Men's Track & Field claimed the "Team Bronze" at Coast-Valley Showdown last Friday in Modesto.  The Cougars garnered 68 points and trailed only host Modesto and event winner DeAnza in the 11-team event.  The Cougars boasted three event champions at the meet and had three others Top 3 performers.  In the High Jump, Freshman Cal Corn (pict) took home the title after clearing a season-best 5-10.75, while teammate Owen Arreguy claimed the Pole Vault by tying his season-best, 14-5.25, and edging his teammate, Kevin Sweeney, who took the Bronze at 13-5.25.   Leaper William Dawes rounded out the Cougars' list of Champions by clearing 22-5.75 in the Long Jump, while Trevor Parsons was one-foot and two places back with his season-best mark of 21-5.5.  On the Track, Sophomore Nic Moore took 3rd in the 1,500-meters, while clearing the metric-mile in 4:12.40.

Cuesta Track & Field shall enjoy a bye this week, before enduring Track & Field's final gauntlet-five straight weeks of championship events.  The Cougars next meet is the 2024 Western State Conference Preliminary Meet on Friday, April 19.
