Jacob Sill

Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our male selection for November is Poloist Jacob Sill.

Sophomore Jacob Sill's team-oriented style of play drove the Cougars to the brink of the CCCAA State Final Four and their highest winning percentage in three decades.  Sill also reaped a ton of individual awards as Cuesta's offensive anchor.  He was chosen as the 2021 Western State Conference Player of the Year and accorded CCCAA First Team All-Region and All America honors.  The Sophomore Center led the Cougars with 56 goals and was third on the team with both 29 assists and 20 fouls drawn.  He concludes his career as the 32nd player to eclipse the century mark for goals.  Sill netted 109 goals during his career as a Cougar. 

Cuesta Water Polo qualified for the post-season for the 42^nd consecutive season and advanced to the 2021 CCCAA Regional Semi-Final.  Cuesta won 28 games and posted a .778 winning percentage; both rank 4^th all time at Cuesta and are the best team marks since 1990.  The Cougars also won their 29^th conference title since the program's founding in 1979.
