All-State Driver Dean Moody opened his sophomore campaign in style at the Merced Tournament last Friday.  Moody guided the Cougars to a perfect 3-0 mark to open the season, while scoring dozen goals to pace the squad.  Moody, who was tied for second on the team with 55 goals last year, led the Cougars in scoring for all three games.  He scored three goals in the season opener versus American River, five goals against fellow 2021 CCCAA Regional Semi-Finalist Sierra and, four in the tournament finale against Las Positas.  Moody now owns 67 career goals and, after this past weekend, it puts him on pace to enter Cuesta's All Time Top 20.  1988 Cuesta Athlete of the Year Kelly Porter holds the record with 221, while current teammate Ethan Blum's father and 1987 Cuesta Athlete of the Year, Karl Blum, currently holds the final spot on the list with 119 career goals.
