Men's Water Polo secured its 43rd straight playoff berth, a streak that began during the program's inaugural campaign in 1979. The Cougars' Head Coach John Marsh, who played for the program's 1980 and 1981 playoff teams, guided his team to its third straight Western State Conference title and the program's 30th title over the past 43 seasons. The Cougars' WSC Crown helped them secure the #2-seed in the playoffs. Cuesta earned a first-round bye and travels to Long Beach City College for the quarter-final round on Friday (4:30). Cuesta is set to play the winner of Wednesday's first round game between 7th-seed Riverside and 10th-seed Grossmont. Cuesta played and beat Riverside, 21-10, on September 24, but has not played Grossmont since the Griffins edged them, 12-11, in the 2021 CCCAA Regional Third Place Game.
