Cuesta Poloist Jacob Sill Named to the CCCAA State Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll

Cuesta College's 2022 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Jacob Sill has been selected to the 2021-22 California Community College Athletic Association's Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Jacob Sill was an exemplary student-athlete over his three years at Cuesta and, as the recipient of the Cuesta's Warren Hansen Scholar-Athlete of the Year, he reached the highest achievement in both academics and athletics.  In his first semester at Cuesta in 2019, he began his career by joining the water polo team, earning a spot on both the all-Western State Conference First Team in the tank and the all-WSC Academic Team in the classroom.  Unfortunately, pandemic scrubbed both his first swim season and next water polo season, yet Sill kept up with the books and made the Dean's List each semester.  Last Spring, Sill returned to competition and earned all-WSC honors in the pool, for both the 200-Breaststroke and 500-Freestyle, and the classroom with another selection to both the Dean's List and the all-WSC Academic Team.  He completed his athletic career in the Fall of 2022 with his second full season of water polo.  Sill enjoyed a spectacular finale and was honored as the 2021 Western State Conference Water Polo Player of the Year.  He was accorded All America First Team recognition, while once again earning all-WSC Academic Honors.  Sill completed his three years as a student-athlete as a two-time all-conference pick, along with an all-America selection, in water polo and one season as an all-conference swimmer, while also compiling 3.935 grade-point average and earning all-WSC Academic Honors three times.

Sill is currently attending Cal Baptist University and playing on the Lancers' water polo team.
