Harriers Finish 11th in their Final Pre-Conference Test

Men's Cross Country finished 11th at the 18-team Bautista Invitational in San Diego on Saturday.  The Cougars sent only five runners to the 200-man race but landed three among the Top 100 finishers.  2021 State Qualifier Jordan Reilly continued to lead the Cuesta pack with a team-best 46th place (21:57.0).  Freshman Anthony Erikson, is only his third race of the season, has continued to push for the top spot.  He was 42 places behind Reilly in his first race, seven in his second and four spots, and just under three seconds, behind Reilly last weekend.  Returning Freshman Axel Reich finished 93rd, while Freshman Jorge Merced and 2021 State Qualifier Nic Moore closed out the Cougars' scoring in 148th and 157th place, respectively.

The Harriers trip to San Diego wrapped up their regular season and they have two weeks to prepare for the 2022 Western State Conference Championships.  The WSC Meet is the first of three season ending championship meets.  The 2022 SoCal Regional Meet is scheduled for the first weekend of November and the CCCAA State Championship is the weekend before Thanksgiving.  The Cuesta Harriers have only missed the State Meet twice since 2008.
