Men's Cross Country Finishes 17th at SoCal Regional

Men's Cross Country went to the 2022 CCCAA Southern California Regional and finished 17th at the 28-team event.  Returning State Qualifier Jordan Reilly did his job at the front of the pack and led the Cougars for the eighth straight race of the season and 10th time in his fourteen starts at Cuesta, dating back to the 2020-21 pandemic season.  Reilly finished in 48th place overall with a time of 21:00.1 and was joined in the Top 100 by Freshman Anthony Erikson.  Erikson crossed the line four places, and little over three seconds, behind Reilly in 52nd place with a time of 21:03.9.  The Cougars were without the services of their usual number three, All-WSC Harrier Axel Reich, and did not complete their scoring team until the 153rd spot.

The CCCAA State Cross Country Championships is scheduled for November 19 at Woodward Park in Fresno, but only the Top 21 teams shall be invited.  The Cougars 17th place finish will make it tough for them to advance out of region, but the Reilly, Erikson and Reich should all advance as individual qualifiers.
