Returning Cross Country and Track & Field State Qualifier Anthony Erikson (pict) has blown away the competition in his first two starts. Erikson won the season opening Tour de Cuesta last week and, today, moved to the front of a 90-man pack to win at the Moorpark Open.  Erikson took the race by 16-seconds and led the Cougars to 7th place as a team. The 12-team field at Moorpark boasted seven teams from the Western State Conference, as well as four-year school Cal Lutheran.  All-WSC Harrier Axel Reich was, once again, right behind Erikson for the Cougars scoring team.  Reich finished 17th (22:43.1) overall, while the other three members of the pack finished in the Top 65.  

The Cuesta Harriers return to training for the next two weeks as they prepare for the 2023 SoCal Preview Meet against the best runners in the region.
