Harriers Compete for the WSC Title this Friday in Woodland Hills

Men's Cross-Country travels to Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills this Friday for the 2023 Western State Conference Championship.  The Cougars are chasing their first conference title since 1981, when they were a member of the Coast Conference and part of the Northern California Regional.  The Harriers are also focused on qualifying as a team the CCCAA State Championship for 12th time in the past fifteen seasons.  2022 State Qualifier Anthony Erikson has won four of his five starts this season, including the WSC and Regional Previews, and is in contention for the loop's title.  A Cuesta Runner has won the title five times since 1999, but not since eventual CCCAA State Champion Sean McDermott pulled it off in 2016.  2022 All-WSC Harrier Axel Reich leads a strong and experienced pack behind Erikson, which includes 2022 CCCAA Regional Qualifiers Deegan Miller and Jorge Merced, along with newcomers Kyle Shatwell and Gabriel Irwin.
