Softball has completed its 2023 schedule and will wait out the final week of the season sitting on the edge of the playoffs.  The Cougars earned a decisive Western State Conference win at Moorpark, 15-3, on Thursday, but statewide there are still 60 games scheduled before the seeding meeting this weekend.  Cuesta is currently a half-game behind local rival Allan Hancock for both second place and one of WSC's two automatic playoff berths.  The Bulldogs end their season against an already crowned WSC Champion Ventura on Tuesday.  A win for Ventura will drop the Cougars and Bulldogs into a tie for 2nd place and a mathematical battle for the automatic playoff bid.  The Cougars, who are chasing their first playoff berth since 2015, and the Bulldogs will also be vying for one of the CCCAA's six at-large tickets to the post-season.
