*Led Softball to 4th Place (23-15) in WSC

*2022 All Western State Conference Second Team

Coach Jenel Guadagno says, "Emily Valdez started in centerfield in all 38 games. Valdez was a key part of Cuesta's defense with 80 putouts and 2 assists. She did not commit a single error this season with 82 chances. Valdez had a stellar performance vs. MPC (#3 at the time.) Her performance earned her 3C2A player of the week (March 31.) Valdez lead our team in multiple hitting categories (Runs, hits, stolen bases, AVG, OBP, and SLGG.)  Valdez is a 2x All-Western State conference selection and a 2023 Rawlings Golden Glove Nominee."

 

Note- Cuesta College Athletics will be posting its annual Athlete of the Year Award Winners and Nominees over this week. Each team's nominee will be profiled over the next two days The overall winners will be announced on Thursday (George Silveria Career Award & Warren Hansen Scholar-Athletes) and Friday (Male & Female Outstanding Athletes of the Year).  The Coach and Fan of the Year shall be posted next Tuesday. We hope to be back in person next Spring!
