Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month. This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport. Our female selection for December is Cager Olivia Missler.
Freshman Guard Olivia Missler has led a resurgent Cuesta Women's Basketball program back into contention. Missler overcame a slow start and some nagging injuries in November to blossom into one of the State's premier Shooting Guards during December. Missler also kicked the month off by earning a spot on the all-Conoco/Phillips Tournament team and never looked back. She averaged 16 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists in seven games over 2021's final lunar cycle. On the season, Missler leads the Cougars with 13.1 points per game, while also adding 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 4.2 rebounds per contest.
Women's Basketball is back after playing only five games over the past two years. First-year Head Coach Casey Blair led the Cougars to a 7-6 record during Cuesta pre-conference schedule.
