Women's Basketball opened the season with seven straight losses, but then won seven of their next eight and were on the cusp of .500, before losing their past two games.  The Cougars hope to return to their winning ways this week as they dive deeper into WSC play with a pair of game.   They host local rival Allan Hancock this Wednesday (5 PM) in a Western State Conference Men's and Women's Doubleheader and travel to Oxnard on Saturday (1 PM) for another WSC twibill.  

The Cougars' 2023 Western State Conference Opener against Santa Barbara City, set for last Wednesday, was postponed due to a weather advisory, so they opened against #5 Ventura in Ventura on Saturday. The Pirates have not lost to Cuesta since 1995 and kept their streak alive with another win, 77-34, despite Sophomore Guard Sam Watanabe's 15 points.  Cuesta is 7-10 overall and 0-1 in WSC play.
