Women's Basketball entered their game against Chabot fresh off scoring a new school record with 108 points in their season debut with Foothill. The Cougars also came out quick against the visiting Gladiators, a 2023 playoff team, and claimed the lead, 15-12, in the opening quarter. Unfortunately, the Cougars' shooting went cold in the second quarter. The Cougars went 1-for-12 from the floor and scored only four points in the second quarter and entered the intermission trailing, 26-19. Cuesta closed the gap to 36-32 after halftime, but eventually fell, 62-52. Freshman Reese Pasternik was the only Cuesta player to reach double-digits as she posted a game-high 30 points, while also adding seven steals on defense. The setback dropped the Cougars to 1-1 on the season.
Women's Basketball is back in action this Friday against Skyline (3 PM) and Saturday against Santa Monica (1 PM). Both games shall serve as a prequel to the Men's Hinson's Tire Pros Winter Classic, which will host two men's games per night, starting at 5 PM and 3 PM, respectively.
