Women's Hoops Knocks Off Undefeated #23 Skyline, 60-48

Women's Basketball pounced on visiting #23 Skyline with 21 points in the opening quarter en route to an upset of the undefeated Trojans, 60-48.  Four Cougars reached double-digits in scoring, led by Sophomore Forward Sydney Howe's (pict) game-high 18 points.  Sophomore Forward Abigail Lacy added 13 points, while Freshmen Andrea Rodriguez Ibanez and Reese Pasternik each added a dozen points to the Cougars' cause.   Howe and Pasternik also tied with Point Guard Bella Musolff with a team-high three assists.  The victory over the visiting Trojans improved the Cougars' early season record to 2-1.

Cuesta is scheduled to play another non-conference game on Saturday (1 PM), prior to the start of the second day of the men's 54th Hinson's Tire Pros Classic at 3 PM.   The Cougars will play their first game against another Southern California Regional team when Santa Monica comes to town.  The Corsairs and Cougars are both members of the Western State Conference, however Santa Monica plays in the South Division, while Cuesta plays in the WSC-North.
