Women's Basketball Edged by Rival Allan Hancock, 75-68

Cuesta Women's Basketball is still fighting for a playoff spot but fell back a spot with a loss to local rival Allan Hancock, 75-68.  The rivals were knotted in a one-point game going into the final in the quarter, but the visiting Bulldogs pushed past the Cougars by a 23-17 margin over the last ten minutes.  Cuesta Forward Reese Pasternik led all scorers with 29 points, while teammate Abigail Lacy also added 13 points for the Cougars.  The setback dropped the Cougars to 13-12 overall and 2-7 in Western State Conference play.

Cuesta remains in the playoff hunt but has just three games to solidify their bid.  The Cougars play at Oxnard next Wednesday (7 PM) and beat the Condors, 70-47, in their first meeting.
