Joe joins the Cougars for his first year as an Assistant Coach for the women's basketball team. He brings an extensive coaching career to the Cougars’ bench. Up until last season, Joe had spent over two decades as a teacher and basketball coach at nearby Laguna Middle School. He also coached at Mountain View High school, while earning his bachelor’s degree in physical education at California State University Fullerton. He later earned his master’s in education locally at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. Joe and his wife, Laura Ottrando, live in San Luis Obispo and two grown children, Nicholas, and Kate.
