A former local high school star, Leana returned to the Central Coast to join Cuesta College as Coach Casey Blair's top assistant. Leana was an all-league selection, as well as Team MVP and Captain for Morro Bay High and went on to play at the four-year level. She spent her first year of college playing at LaVerne, however her sophomore season was interrupted by the pandemic, and she moved into coaching. Once her focus turned to coaching, Leana quickly moved through the ranks. She began her career at Los Osos Middle School in 2019-20 and spent last year guiding SLO High, before moving to the collegiate level for 2021-22. Leana also transferred to Sacramento State and is on track to earn her Public Health degree by spring. Leana live nearby Los Osos.
