Cuesta Wrestling's competes in the 2021 SouthEast Conference Tournament this Saturday, November 13 in Lemoore.  The Cougars posted a 1-4 record in their SEC duals, but the squad better suited for the tournament format.   The Grapplers are ranked 16th in the State as a team and boast six ranked wrestlers, including Meathead Mover Invitational Champion Humphrey Quirie (Tuolumne) at #6 for 165.  Fellow sophomores Jacob Yamaguchi (Kapolei HS, HI), at 149, and 2019 State Qualifier Kai Schaefer (Placerville), also at 165, are joined by a trio of ranked freshmen- Sami Bakarat (Danville), at 157, Gabe Carrillo (Simi Valley), at 174, and Quinn Patrick (Sacramento), at 184. Quirie and Yamaguchi are tied for the team lead with 11 victories each.  The Cougars line-up, a dozen men strong, is a combined 68-78 on the season.
