Cuesta Wrestling is coming off another Top 10 performance at the 2021 CCCAA State Championship and opens the 2022 campaign this Saturday at Sacramento City College.  The Cougars return 2021 State Qualifiers Sami Barakat and Quinn Patrick, who lead a strong young squad.  Both were named to the 2021 SouthEast Conference Second Team and advanced of the Regionals to place 8th and 9th at State, respectively.  This week will be a big test for the grapplers, who currently enjoy multiple wrestlers in most divisions, but are a little shallow in others.  The Cougars currently have three wrestlers listed at both 125 and 157, but none listed at 133 or 197.  Coach Joe Dansby will use this weekend's event to help shape his team for the season.
