Davidson and Lowry Place at Modesto- Cougars Finish 8th, Next Up The Meathead Mover Classic

Cuesta's Grapplers were busy last week with a pair of duals in Victorville on Wednesday and the Modesto Tournament at the opposite end of the State on Saturday.  The Cougars dropped both their duals, dropping their SouthEast Conference match-up, 47-13 to the host Rams and falling to Palomar, 46-12, in a non-conference dual.  Freshman Andres Cervanteswas the only Cougar to win a match in each dual.  Three days later in Modesto the Cougars took 8th place among the 13 teams, while posting a combined 14-17 mark among their eight entrants.  Freshman Christian Davidson and 2022 State Qualifier Reily Lowry both placed for the Cougars.  Davidson proved to be the Cougars' top placer after reaching the title match at 197.  He posted a 3-1 mark and took 2nd place.  Lowry also claimed three victories as he took 5th place with a 3-2 record at 174.

Wrestling takes a break this weekend and is back in action for a SEC Dual at Bakersfield on October 18 (6 PM).  That week, Cuesta also hosts East LA for a SEC Dual the Friday (6 PM) before the 20th Meathead Mover Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, October 21.
