Grapplers Take 9th at the 20th Meathead Mover Invitational

The Meathead Mover Invitational is the premier meet of the season, partially for its location in the middle of the State, partially for its timing, just two weeks before the conference championships, but mostly because of championship level presentation of Cuesta Wrestling and sponsor Meathead Mover over the past two decades.  The 20th Meathead Mover was a packed event and also broadcast across the State.  Luckily, home team Cuesta College earned a solid 9th place finish in the 18-team event, which bodes well for the Cougars in a State with only 17 official teams. Freshman Christian Davidson (Paso Robles HS) led the Cougars by winning a title at 197, while fellow former BearCats Ian Rodriguez (149, Pict-R) and Joe Ciccarelli (165, Pict-L) each placed 6th in their respective divisions.   The Cougars have place in the Top 10 in all their tournament this season, except an 11th place showing at Modesto.

The Grapplers are back in action this Wednesday (6 PM) for their final SouthEast Conference Dual.  The Cougars host West Hills-Lemoore Golden Eagles in their 6th dual of the season and final dual against the SEC.  The Cougars are 1-4 duals on the season and 1-3 against their conference circuit, including a win against East LA last Saturday, 30-27.
