Cuesta Women's Soccer entered today's showdown with Moorpark tied with the Raiders in the Western State Conference Standings.  A second half let down, dropped the Cougars behind the raiders in the WSC ladder with a loss, 2-0.  The Cougars and Raiders played a scoreless, but evenly matched, first half, however after the intermission the Raiders capitalized on a lucky bounce in front of the Cougars' net and broke through an hour-long stalemate to take the lead.  Moorpark's Midfielder Trinity Chavez, who earned the assist on the Raiders' initial goal, iced the game with a goal of her own in the 71st minute as Moorpark claimed victory, 2-0.  The setback against the Raiders dims the Cougars' narrow path back to the post-season, but with three more games the have a chance to play the spoiler.   The Cougars are 3-10-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the WSC

Cuesta Kickers travel to face local rival Allan Hancock next Tuesday (2 PM) and host their final home game against of the year against Pierce on Friday (4 PM).  They end the regular season at #12 Ventura the next week.  Cuesta's usually stalwart defense has carried the team most of the season, however their offense ranks 70th (of 86 teams) in the State with only a dozen goals on the season.
