Cuesta Kickers Host #19 Santa Barbara in Home Finale on Tuesday

Women's Soccer wraps up its 2023 campaign with two Western State Conference games this week.  The Cougars host #19 Santa Barbara on Tuesday (2 PM) for their final home game of the season and travel to Woodland Hills to close out the year at #23 Los Angeles Pierce on Friday (4 PM). Cuesta's contest against the Vaqueros on Tuesday is also "Sophomore Day".  The Cougars have only four official sophomores on their roster, but also boast several two-year players that began their time at Cuesta during the suspended 2022 season.  True sophomores CeeCee TuckerHannah FlanaganCaitlin Flanagan (pict) all played during the 2021 season under founding Coach Bob Wilson, while Goaltender Averi Nerpel spent her first year at Moorpark College.  Fellow Starters Kylie BeebyShaylee Sargent and Talia Arroyo all began with the Cougars during the abbreviated 2022 and are officially finishing their first season of eligibility at Cuesta.

Last week, the Cougars earned a tie against Oxnard, 2-2, on Tuesday, but also lost to Moorpark, 7-0, on Friday.  Their loss to the Raiders marked the program's worst defeat since their 2017 season finale against eventual CCCAA State Runner-up Santa Barbara, 9-0.   The Cuesta Kickers enter the final week of the campaign 1-13-1 overall and 0-9-1 in conference play.
