Cuesta Women Finish 3rd at 43rd Cuesta-Arena Invitational

Cuesta Women's Swim and Dive earned 3rd place at the 20-team, 43rd Cuesta-Arena Invitational.  The Cougars' six-woman team accounted for five individual event titles and earned a runner-up finish in three of the five relays.  Sophomore Annie Bartolome was the meet's top scorer overall with 94 individual points.  She won three events and picked up a pair of Silvers for the Cougars, while breaking two Cuesta records and adding three new Cuesta Top 10 marks.  Bartolome set a new Cuesta records in the 400-individual medley with a time of 4:45.97 and broke Jessica Hancher's 30-year old 50-backstroke mark with a time of :27.38.  She also the won the 100-butterfly (1:03.00), while taking 2nd in both the 200-backstroke and 200-individual medley.  Along with her two records, Bartolome also ranks 3rd all time at Cuesta in the 200-backstroke and 7th in the 50-freestyle (:25.07).  Returning Freshman Meghan Abbott and True Freshman Jensen Perry both added another event title to the Cougars' collection.  Abbott won the 500-freestyle (5:33.08), while also taking second in the 1,650, and Perry claimed the 100-indvidual medley (1:06.49).  

The Cougars stay home this week for a Western State Conference Mini Meet on Friday (11:30).  This Friday in the Aqua-Cats final home meet until the 2022 Western State Conference Championship on April 21-23.
